The Burn – “New Children’s Lighthouse Offers Amazing Educational Opportunities”

Table of Contents

When construction started at the Children’s Lighthouse, it was the buzz of the neighborhood — what was the new structure going up at 43385 Defender Drive? The tall spire on top was whimsical and even magical, and soon people discovered that it was a “beacon” for a new kind of educational opportunity for kids in Loudoun County and beyond.

The Children’s Lighthouse of Chantilly-South Riding is more than just a conventional daycare — it’s a comprehensive and exciting learning hub for children from ages six weeks to five years. And there are even opportunities for older children with the center’s after-school programs.

Powered by a mission to “Create Joy,” Children’s Lighthouse of Chantilly-South Riding offers several innovative age-based programs for its students.

The Lighthouse BRIGHT program for infants and toddlers features classrooms that are focused on individual, relational care to help create the building blocks for early learning. Higher-thinking skills are supported through a curriculum rich in language and tailored to your child’s individual needs to support a lifelong love of learning.

The preschool Lighthouse CARES program understands that character, values, and positive peer relationships are the lifelong tools necessary for your child to foster healthy interactions with the people and world around them. Your child’s day is full of purposeful activities in areas like The Learning Wall, Learning Lesson Session, Centers That Shine, and our 3E Outdoor Curriculum. A combination of big group instruction and individual learning opportunities helps prepare your child for elementary success.

Finally, there is a program for school age children called the xStream Quest. Here, Children’s Lighthouse reinforces your child’s knowledge and allow them to use their strengths to achieve a proficiency in design, creativity, and problem-solving. STREAM labs and outdoor activities build autonomy and individuality while improving higher-level thinking skills in a fun environment with friends. Watch as their love of learning comes alive.
