Cinco Ranch’s Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers Launch Second Phase of Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S. Curriculum

Learning Center to Advance Values-Based Curriculum in Fall with Curriculum Enhancements

KATY, Texas – Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers®, widely recognized as the leading values-based, early education childcare provider in the United States, announced today that it will implement the second phase of its comprehensive Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S.™ curriculum.

Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S. emphasizes hands-on focused learning through the use of the Circle Time Learning Wall, individual and group lesson plans and “Centers than Shine” classroom learning center activities. The second phase also highlights STREAM-based learning activities.

The introduction of “STREAM” this month, which is a variation of the widely recognized “STEM” approach to education – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – broadens the curriculum’s scope. The acronym has been expanded to include an “A” for the Arts and an “R” for Reading.

“Our STREAM emphasis covers the entire spectrum of what young children need,” said Veronica Guerra, owner of the Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center in Cinco Ranch. “We could not be more thrilled to introduce the new and improved curriculum this fall. With these enrichments, we will have our children reading fluently before age five, learn Spanish and use fun methods of learning, such as music and dance, among all else.”

Strengthening parent-school communication is another feature of the new curriculum, using the new Lighthouse Connections, which provides parents with weekly information on classroom activities, child development, character value links to the home and opportunities for parent involvement.

“Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S. has been designed to prepare children for a lifetime of learning by encouraging positive values and self-discipline within a structured framework of active and engaging learning activities,” said Dr. Sharman Johnston, director of curriculum and instruction at Children’s Lighthouse. “As early childhood educators, we recognize that we play a critical role in shaping a child’s learning perceptions and habits and Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S. has been created to give our students the tools they need for future success.”

The integrated learning strategies focus on students’ intellectual development, as well as on social, emotional and physical growth through hands-on lessons and embedded content, which emphasizes the fundamental basics of phonics, reading, math, science and social studies.

“Our goal is to provide our children with all of the advantages of a private preschool education, while offering our working parents the child care options that they need. We provide a holistic approach to learning in a way that’s exciting and enjoyable for each child,” Guerra adds.

Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers provide a safe and secure environment that gives parents peace of mind. Specialized services for families include online video links to classrooms, computerized building entry, security monitoring and transportation to and from area elementary schools.

Local Sibling Team to Open Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center in Austin

Group Signs Agreement to Open Premier Educational Childcare Center

AUSTIN – Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers®, widely recognized as the leading values-based, early-education childcare provider in the United States, announced today an agreement has been signed with siblings Alla Attia, Ahmed Attia, Noor Attia and Tesneem Attia to open a new Children’s Lighthouse location for Austin’s Round Rock and Brushy Creek communities.

Opening a Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center was a natural fit for Noor, Ahmed, Alla and Tesneem, who all have children of their own. The siblings wanted a way to give back to their community and provide parents the same level of quality educational childcare that they were seeking for their own children.

“As parents trying to find daycare for our own children, we saw the need for educational childcare in our area,” said Noor. “It’s such an important part of a child’s development. That’s why we are so excited to bring the Children’s Lighthouse educational curriculum to families here in the Round Rock and Brushy Creek communities.”

The siblings are transitioning into entrepreneurship after careers in various sectors, including marketing, teaching, engineering and information systems technology.

The new center will offer classroom and group activity settings, including ample age-appropriate play areas both inside and outside the facility, and will provide on-site meal services. Typical Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers include a 10,500-square-foot classroom facility and serve families with children from six weeks old to age 12. In addition to childcare during traditional school hours, the new Austin center will also provide after-school programs and summer camps.

Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers are safe and secure environments that give parents peace of mind, including online video links to rooms, computerized building entry, security monitoring and transportation to and from area elementary schools. With experienced educational childcare professionals guiding the company’s operations, Children’s Lighthouse has embedded award-winning curriculums into its programming, designed to teach young children reading, math and science as well as character values. The curriculum also incorporates elements of fun and entertainment to keep kids engaged at all times.

Along with the forthcoming Austin center, 25 new Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers are in development or under construction, preparing to join the more than 30 that are already operating.

“We are proud to enter new communities and expand in those that already have a Children’s Lighthouse center, with the help of talented individuals such as Noor, Tesneem, Ahmed and Alla who share our passion for education and values,” said Stephen Dixon, chief development officer for the company. “We are lucky to have this opportunity to carry on the Children’s Lighthouse tradition in Texas with a new school in Austin and doing so with those as gifted as this family. With their qualifications, Children’s Lighthouse has a bright future in the region.”
